Moon.
Light meets time.
Moon is a lamp and clock designed by Michele Venisti and Massimo Esposito for Indarte. An opal glass sphere houses the lamp holder and clock mechanism; outside, the hands follow the curved surface.

The project
Two functions, one sphere.
Moon brings lighting and timekeeping together in a single object. The spherical lampshade also becomes the clock’s support, combining the two functions within one form.
Designed jointly by Michele Venisti and Massimo Esposito, the project connects an essential shape with a familiar action: watching the clock hands move across a surface that belongs to the lamp.

The design detail
Hands that follow the surface.
The lamp holder and clock mechanism are concealed inside the opal glass sphere. The hands remain outside and follow the curve of its surface.
This relationship between interior and exterior defines Moon: the technical components sit within the volume, while the clock’s movement remains visible.
When the lamp is switched off, the opal glass conceals the circular cover of the internal mechanism: only the hour markers and hands remain visible. When switched on, the internal circle becomes visible through the sphere. The base is made of chrome-plated steel.
