The project
Bringing food and its accompaniment together.
A tasting often brings two elements together: food to arrange on a plate and a sauce or condiment to serve alongside it. Etna combines these functions in a single object, giving each its own space. The tray surface accommodates solid food, while the integrated container holds its accompaniment.
The elongated outline, with rounded ends, organises the composition around the small circular container. Its position near one end leaves the rest of the surface free for arranging food. The design addresses a familiar serving gesture: bringing a tasting to the table with everything presented on the same plate.

The design detail
A container formed within the surface.
The distinctive detail is the transition between the tray and the container. The raised circular rim flows into the serving surface through soft curves, expressing two functions within a continuous ceramic form.
The small container separates the liquid accompaniment from the food arranged beside it. This allows the same object to serve different pairings, from sushi and sauce to cheese with jam or honey. In the photographs, the white finish highlights the connection between the flat surface, the curved transitions and the rim of the container.
