Marble.
Glass and marble, two ways of meeting light.
Marble is a reed diffuser designed for Millefiori Milano. Its clear or frosted glass bottle meets a marble top, bringing two contrasting materials together in a softly rounded object.

The project
A container that becomes part of the room.
The project treats the reed diffuser as an accessory to leave on display. The bottle holds the fragrance, while the marble element defines the upper section and frames the passage of the reeds. The function is familiar, but the object’s character comes primarily from the pairing of its materials.
Glass allows light to pass through and, in the clear version, reveals the liquid and the submerged part of the reeds. Marble introduces an opaque, veined surface. The contrast between transparency and solid material draws attention to the point where the two components meet, without relying on applied decoration.

The design detail
Two soft volumes, one meeting point.
The bottle widens towards its base and narrows towards the neck. Above it, the marble top forms a rounded volume through which the reeds pass. The curves of the two components create a continuous profile while keeping the difference between their materials visible.
In the version shown, dark marble contrasts with clear glass and pale reeds. The veining contributes to the character of the surface, while the bottle picks up reflections and colours from its surroundings. Clear or frosted glass and different top colours offer variations on the same design.
