The fragrance of home, wherever you go.
Wood Travel is a travel diffuser designed by Michele Venisti for Millefiori Milano. A laser-cut wooden silhouette holds a small glass vial and diffuses its fragrance. The design recalls a reed diffuser, reinterpreted as a compact object to take with you.

The project
A diffuser reduced to a silhouette.
The project starts with a familiar image: a fragrance bottle and a fan of reeds. Wood Travel brings these elements together in a single wooden silhouette. The slender upper tips evoke reeds, while the lower section frames the transparent vial.
The shape communicates the object’s purpose while also making it work. The wood supports the vial and absorbs the fragrance, releasing it into the surrounding space. The surface that defines the product is also the surface that diffuses the scent.
Its compact size responds to the wish to find something familiar away from home. Wood Travel brings the design language of Millefiori Milano diffusers to a travel format: a few components, a light profile and the fragrance on display.
The design detail
Wood that supports and diffuses.
Laser cutting defines both the outer contour and the central opening for the vial. A wooden tongue, integral to the silhouette, extends into the container and comes into contact with the fragrance. Inserting the vial brings the support and diffusion functions together.
The view without the vial reveals this construction: the opening follows the outline of the tongue, making the continuity of the material clear. A small circular base holds the silhouette upright. The pale wood and transparent glass emphasise the simplicity of the assembly, while the fragrance adds a touch of colour.
The packaging holds the separate components in a die-cut foam insert: the wooden silhouette, the round base and the capped glass vial, screen-printed with the Millefiori brand. Each component has its own recess, protecting it during transport and making the kit easy to understand.
