The project
Rethinking an everyday gesture.
How can a plate help before the meal, too? 80 Grammi starts with the habit of measuring spaghetti by eye and turns the rim of the plate into a portioning tool.
The design brings together preparation and serving: the same object measures the pasta before cooking and holds it at the table.
The design detail
Two notches. One portion.
Two V-shaped notches in the rim hold a bundle of spaghetti corresponding to approximately 80 grams. The measuring function becomes a visible feature of the plate.
From preparation to the table.
After cooking, the concave base makes it easier to twirl spaghetti around a fork. The porcelain form brings the two functions together.
